An Interesting Anecdote
Down My Memory-Lane!
It was sometime back in 1965 in Bangalore, an ENT surgeon of the iconic Victoria hospital advised me to undergo tonsillectomy as I was suffering from the recurring inflammation of the tonsils (tonsillitis) and the associated severe throat pain and fever. I was 19 years old then. I think the name of the doctor was Subbarao (if my memory is correct) who operated on me to remove the tonsils. After the operation, I had to stay in the general ward of the government hospital for 2 days because of some post operation complications. Cost of the operation, medicines, bed, food, and nursing services in that government hospital was totally free. The divinity of the healthcare system of those good old days is incomparable and should be role model to the present day's healthcare systems of the world! While recuperating in the hospital bed of that iconic Victoria hospital of Bengaluru, I did not have even a faintest idea, one day I would be inventing universal comprehensive treatment regimen (UCTR) which can prevent inflammation of tonsils, adenoids and the need to undergo adenoidectomy and tonsillectomy!
